Graduation!!

The day finally came!  After 10 long years of effort from all of us, Greg finally graduated on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from Athens State University.  He had a brief scare when we first arrived and couldn't find his name on the program, but it was just a mistake.  We applied for graduation late (unbeknownst to us) and they didn't put his name in the right category so it was left off the program.  But they caught it and ran new copies of the program for our family and the family of the other guy that was left off.  It turns out though that Greg's name isn't really H. Gregory Hollingshead - so there should be some more programs in the mail.  Greg made sure that the announcer said everything right though.  It was a nice and short ceremony.  All 8 girls were very good.  We are very proud and very happy that he has finally finished.

Friends and Boys

I found this book that Camden made at school.

These are just a couple of the pages.  The boys page is my favorite!

Jump Rope for Heart

Camden and Brynn did Jump Rope for Heart today.  We skipped the fundraiser part, but they had fun jumping and we had fun watching.  Brynn was sad that she didn't get to watch Camden, but she didn't realize that she got to do it herself this year.  The perks of being in school.  To show how times are changing . . . I remember doing this in elementary school.  But I remember it lasting ALL day and I remember getting a blue athletic suit out of it.  My girls got a Dum-Dum.

The BEST birthday ever!

Brynn turned 6 yesterday and according to her it was THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! We heard that phrase several times during the day. She had a cake decorating party which included a game of "Pin the Hat on the Chef", a little freeze dancing and decorating your own cake. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

A first for Mom

This year was the very first year that someone in my own family made a cake for me for my birthday. Not only that, but they got up at 6:30 in the morning to make it before the girls had to go to school. I knew it was going to be a good day when no one woke up crying and I got to stay in bed! Thanks family.

Buddy

Buddy has grown a bit since we got him as a puppy. He'd really like to be a lap dog if he could. I don't think we're big enough. I'm not sure what I expected when I got a Basset Hound, but it sure wasn't Buddy.  He gets jealous if anyone (dogwise) gets any attention.  He wasn't going to let Fang be the only one to hang out on Greg's lap.

Fang

Greg and I decided that my dad needed a new friend. My mom warned us about giving someone a real animal as a present. If we waited for them to decide, then nothing would ever happen. Since Dad is now retired we figured it would be a good time to follow through. Mom said that the next dog they got should be small so it could stay in the house where they could give it attention. Dad has always wanted to name a dog Fang. I decided that we'd surprise them with a small dog already named Fang. He ended up being a little bigger than what I expected, but he is very sweet and calm. He cleaned up pretty well and I think they like him.
